Two 5.5KW Inverters + Two 10KWH Batteries Build a Household Off-Grid Energy Storage System

2025-04-22

[Customer Background]

Frequent power outages, medical dependency, high electricity bills

In a city with significant day-night temperature fluctuations, a five-member household struggled with frequent power outages. Two children needed to study at night, an elderly family member relied on medical equipment, and high-power appliances like air conditioners and water heaters created peak electricity demand in the evenings. Previously, the family relied on diesel generators for backup power, but these caused noise pollution, high fuel costs, and maintenance hassles.

The core requirements were clear: the system must store sufficient energy during the day to ensure 6+ hours of high-load nighttime operation, with fully automated management to minimize manual intervention.

[Ktech Energy Solution]

Ktech Energy designed a "dual-inverter, dual-storage" solar-storage system with day-night intelligent dispatch and dual-mode (storage/grid-tied) switching to tackle nighttime energy challenges:

Configuration Rationale

1

Solar Panel

550W

Two parallel Ktech 5.5kW hybrid inverters (11kW peak) support simultaneous startup of ACs and water heaters. Off-grid mode achieves >98% efficiency for stable voltage.

Two Ktech NP-WG10 lithium battery packs (10kWh each, 20kWh total), 90% depth of discharge (DoD), deliver 5kW power for 6 hours, covering nighttime lighting, medical devices, and 3 ACs.

Battery

ESS NP-WG10

2

20×550W monocrystalline solar panels (11kW total), generating ~55kWh daily (5h effective sunlight). Excess energy charges batteries first, then powers appliances directly.

[Design Philosophy]

Dynamic Allocation + Smart Energy Saving: 8-hour runtime on cloudy days, cloud-platform automation

The system follows a "store by day, use by night" logic. Solar energy charges batteries in the morning. At midday, when batteries are full, excess energy feeds back to the grid for revenue. At sunset, the system switches seamlessly to battery power, with inverters dynamically balancing output between dual battery packs to avoid overload. During cloudy weather, the cloud platform activates "Smart Energy-Saving Mode," suspending non-essential loads to extend runtime beyond 8 hours.

[Customer Feedback]

"Nighttime power worries are gone, bills plummeted, and diesel generator noise is history!"

The customer was impressed: "We used to ration AC usage at night. Now, the kids study late without fear of blackouts! The app shows real-time battery levels and lets us prioritize medical devices—total peace of mind." Post-installation, monthly electricity costs dropped sharply, and the near-silent system eliminated diesel generator noise.
